The second incarnation of my blog


Driving home from a meeting yesterday, the acres of red Poppies could be seen from several miles away.  Luckily there was a lay-by, so I had to stop to take a few pictures.  It was a beautiful site.

For reference, these fields are just East of Royston.

    When my mother died in 1990 and I got to her house in Bedfordshire–not far from Royston–I was stunned to see her house set against a vast red field of poppies like this. For a moment I felt as if nature was somehow marking her loss…
