The second incarnation of my blog

SD 14th May 2016

Something different:

Two firsts today in our little vegetable plot.

Firstly, I completed the planting of 4 rows of potatoes which I spaced out over 2 months. Nothing different on the face of it, but this year I am growing truly sustainable food in that all of the seed potatoes were rogue escapees from last year. They spent winter in the mud and when I found sufficient numbers, I chitted them and then replanted in a more orderly manner.

The second crop will be Sweetcorn, which features for the first time and these plants live in an L shape around the plot.  I don’t like the stuff myself, but Pete loves it.

There’s something very satisfying about growing your own food and the taste is remarkably different.
