RIP David Bowie

This past weekend, we have been listening to David Bowie’s brand new album ★. Only released last week, we both enjoyed the often challenging mix of music.  It’s undeniably clever in it’s construction.

Then at 6.38 this morning, Pete text me from the train to ask if the news was true.  It wasn’t until I heard it from the BBC half an hour later that I realised that the sad news of David Bowie’s death was true.

So much is being said about this icon of modern music, so let me just add that there are too many great songs to pick and share, but I will pick one.  Ziggy Stardust may have the best riff and Space Oddity the hooks and more, but Let’s Dance is just perfect pop…

A tremendously huge tree in the musical woodland is overthrown… 😦

One of the very few whom some of us assumed would always ‘be there’, as if immortal. Desperately sad. (And your choice of record is a worthy one.)
