Self portrait

Painting is not easy, I know that, but I decided to have a go at painting a self portrait in acrylic paints. He’s the finished work (well, I still may change the mouth and neck, I haven’t decided yet) and I think it looks a bit like me. It should of course, as I took inspiration of the image from a photo.

I’m not sure why I’m even sharing this image, but here it is anyway.  If anyone has any tips on how to improve the mouth, let me know!

This is nice. Well when I tried my hand at sketching, portraits were the toughest to do, I would never get the face cut right. You have done an excellent job I think.
Though I am no expert, I think if you equalize the spacing between the lips and the beard on the left and right side giving the chin a more rounded shape and smooth out the curves around the neck, that may do the trick.

Doesn’t look like you have a tilted chin from your profile picture, but well like I said I am no expert, I was just giving you my viewpoint 🙂 Happy painting!
