The second incarnation of my blog

Prompt of the day:  Stroke of Midnight – Where were you last night when 2013 turned into 2014? Is that where you’d wanted to be?

Yesterday, Pete and I walked cross country with Zac the 7 miles to Pete’s mums house for a New Year’s Eve lunch. It wasn’t a nice day, despite a pleasant route through fields, woods and quiet roads.  Of course, Sod’s law dictates that when we walked into an open field, it rained and when we under the cover of trees, the rain stopped!

We stopped at a pub en route (as you have to). The pub is owned by a large group of people who live/lived in the village, is this the future of pubs in small villages? There is a connection with us as Pete worked at the pub about 20 years ago!

We had a lovely lunch, some good wine and a doze in front of the open fire. A headache was brewing at this point… we got a lift home and ended up watching an extremely funny one-off comedy on BBC1 called Two Doors Down. I recommend you catch it on inlayer while you can, if only to see the gay son and his boyfriend.

And then to bed!  I needed to sleep off the headache and we’re beyond caring about New Years Eve as an overpriced, overhype event.  So midnight was spent asleep!

A clip from Two Doors Down:

A very happy NY to you and yours, including Zac, Stephen.
At midnight I was lying in bed with a pussy on each side of me. Had been there since 9.30. (Haven’t seen in a New Year since the Millenium). Was hoping wouldn’t be awoken by fireworks but was stirred to wakefulness at 11.30 – by a thunderingly noisy downpour which, lasting well over an hour, put a damper on any pyrotechnics (heh heh!).
Trust your hangover has dissipated by now.

There was NO hangover! It was just a headache – I get them bad sometimes.

    Happy new year though!!!
