A selfie – now how did that waiter get into the shot?

Long exposure using a cool new app.

Tiny cafe with a horseshoe shaped bar taking up most of the space.

Surely this guy is a model?!

The odd and wonderful English bookshop on The Seine.

The Louvre – can you spot the error in this panorama?

Such nostalgia! – between 1984 and 1990 I used to go to my (then) favourite of ALL the cities I knew 3 times a year, Easter, Bastille Day and November. (It was only lack of finance which made me cease). But most of these glimpses of yours bring it all back beautifully – Gare du Nord, Louvre (Error? You can’t be referring to the pyramid? – unless it’s to its apparent distance as shot from this perspective.), the magnificent Metro, with it’s odd pervading smells (which I presume are still there) – and, of course, Shakespeare & Co, where I used to spend regular happy hours just browsing. (Funny how this quaint and unique establishment crops up so regularly both in literature and on film).
Sadly I have no recollection of the waiter or (an even greater loss) that ‘model’.

The metro still has an odd smell. I think it’s a mix of stale air and the sewers!

The app is called Long Expo – I just use the free version and it’s very clever!

Thank you for the lovely pics. The only problem? You’ve made me homesick.
    Thanks anyway.
