This week I have been…

Listening to… an interesting podcast on an ideas tool developed by musician Brian Eno and Peter Schmidt called Oblique Strategies. You have a box of small cards with very random instructions on to help you when you need a creative boost – some are quite strange. You can take the cards literally or let the sub-conscious mull it over for a while. I like things like this whereby you

Disappointed… in the quality of refereeing during the Manchester United versus Crystal Palace game. Ashley Young and other Utd players were clearly diving and I doubt very much that Alex Fergsuson would ever have let them do such low things. Then the ref sent off a Palace player and gave a penalty, both incorrect decisions. I didn’t expect a win, but the poor decisions ruined the game.

Enjoying… a nice afternoon tea in Cambridge. Pete and I bought a Groupon deal and had Champagne, food and lots and lots of tea overlooking the punters in Cambridge yesterday.

Eating… at Cafe Rouge where we had a good meal using some vouchers – I would only eat there with vouchers as I think it’s a bit pricey. Our local Cafe Rouge had a makeover recently and unfortunately it’s changed from a cozy pseudo-French cafe into a cold blue bland room.

Reading… Twitter and finding some funny tweets:
– If you had invested one dollar in Apple in 1997, you would now have enough money to buy a replacement iPhone charger.
– The mascot for the Tokyo Olympics will be a cuddly Godzilla wearing a biohazard suit.
– Shops selling the new iPhone 5s will have to make it very clear they’re not just selling iPhone 5s
