The second incarnation of my blog
Listening… to some unusual music by Bjork. Of course, all of her music is unusual. I’ve never been a fan, but last night we watched a documentary on Channel 4 about her last project and her conversations with David Attenborough(!), that took 3 years to come to fruition. Whatever you think of her music, she certainly is a genius and visionary.
Visiting… Pete in hospital where he had an operation, for which I will spare you the details. He’s now on an enforced week of relaxation at home, whether he likes it or not.
Struggling… with Ikea flatpack furniture. The garden table and four chairs is certainly a challenge to construct! I have to say that Ikea didn’t help the purchase at all. The table/chair combo we were going to buy was not available to buy online (although the same design in a different colour was!), so the only option is the 2 hour round trip to the shop to buy it and then arrange for a home delivery. That makes no sense and the £60 delivery charge is a complete rip off. So we enlisted the help of Pete’s brother who brought his van along. All in all, the whole process was made awkward by Ikea, a company that usually prides itself on customer service.
Presenting… to groups of clients at a few events. It was tough going this time around as the topics were rather dry. I am glad to have completed this round, though I have some more to do this week.
Shopping… at David’s Bookshop in Letchworth. Not only is it a great independent bookshop, it also has a record shop. It sells new and second hand items, so Pete bought some vinyl albums. It’s so important to support independent shops.
