Graham Norton is planning to host a seven-hour chat show to raise money for Comic Relief.
It is understood the marathon edition of his usual programme will take over the entire BBC Three schedule in March.
The programme is expected to feature up to 50 celebrity guests and musical performances.
Norton’s stunt follows former Radio 1 DJ Chris Moyles’ record-breaking Comic Relief broadcast in 2011, when he was on air continuously for 51 hours.
According to newspaper reports, stars such as David Walliams, Miranda Hart and Doctor Who’s Matt Smith are being lined up to take part.
